Wyrick, Kim

Wyrick, Kim

3rd Grade

My name is Kim Wyrick and I have lived in Atoka County all of my life. I attended school at Atoka from K-12 and graduated in 1989. That fall, I began college at Southeastern Oklahoma State University and graduated in December of 1993 with a Bachelor of Science degree. My major was Elementary Education (1st-8th) accompanied by an endorsement in Early Childhood Education (PK-3rd).

I married Clay Wyrick in 1993, who was a Stringtown graduate. We have two children, Heather and Jared. I worked for Caney Elementary for 2 ½ years before becoming a homemaker and staying home with our two children for the next 7 years. When my son went to Kindergarten, I began teaching 2nd grade at Stringtown Elementary. In 2006, I returned to college this time East Central University to pursue a Master’s Degree which I received in 2008 for Reading (K-12). Both of my children graduated from Stringtown and were 8th grade and 12th grade co-valedictorians.

I now teach third grade after teaching Kindergarten for a few years. I love teaching. My husband and I own a ranch which keeps us busy. We also attend the McGee Valley Baptist Church where I am the Church Clerk, a position that I have held for close to 25 years now. I have two adorable grandkids and a third on the way, being a Mimi is definitely my best job!

And who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this? Esther 4:14 I’m not going to save the Jewish people as Queen Esther did in the Old Testament of the Bible, but I do have the opportunity to touch children’s lives. I am so very thankful to be a part of the Stringtown Public School.
